Opening a shop on Plukio

A shop on Plukio is for makers who'd rather not run their own website. Buyers check out on Plukio, and every payment goes to your own Stripe account. Opening one is free, and you start on the Free plan.

Already sell on your own site? You don't need a shop here. Submit your site and Plukio lists it for free.

The four steps

1. Name it. Go to plukio.com/sell/shop, choose Where you sell from, type a name, and select Start my shop. If you're not signed in, you'll sign in first and come back to the same name. Your address is reserved straight away, and nothing is public until the shop opens.
2. Get paid. On your dashboard, select Connect with Stripe. See Connecting Stripe.
3. Add your first thing. Drafts don't need Stripe, so you can do this while Stripe checks your details. See Creating a product.
4. Open up. Add your tax details, write a few lines about you and what you make, and select Submit for review. A person looks at every new shop before it opens. See Shop review.

You can do steps 2 and 3 in either order. Your dashboard at plukio.com/sell always shows the step you're on.

Your country and currency

The country you choose sets the currency your shop prices in and takes payment in, and it can't change later. Your Stripe account is created for the same country.

New shops can open in 44 countries and territories, including the US, the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Switzerland, Norway and every country in the European Union. If your country isn't in the list, it isn't open for new shops yet.

Your address is held for 30 days

A new shop holds its address for 30 days. Submitting for review keeps it for good. If you don't submit in time, the address is freed for someone else, but you keep your shop, your products and your Stripe account, and you can pick a new address.

Before you start

• You need to be 18 or older to use Plukio.
• Starting a shop means you agree to the Seller Terms: among other things, you're responsible for the taxes on your sales.
• Check what you can sell.
• One account runs one shop.
