Adding tracking
When you mark an order shipped, you can paste a tracking number or a tracking link into the box. It's optional, but it's what lets your buyer follow the parcel, and it counts toward your Shipped with tracking number on your dashboard.
What Plukio does with what you paste
Plukio looks for one tracking number in what you paste, from USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL Express, Canada Post, Royal Mail, Australia Post, or an international post number. Spaces are fine, and so is the carrier's own tracking link.
- If it finds one, your buyer's order page and their "shipped" email name the carrier and link the number to the carrier's own tracking page. Your order panel shows the carrier and the number.
- If it doesn't, your buyer sees what you pasted. A link you pasted stays a link, and anything else shows as text. Your order panel says "We couldn't find a tracking number in this. Buyers see it as text." It never stops you marking the order shipped.
A number only counts when its check digit is right, so a typo usually shows as text rather than a wrong link. A few short formats (DHL Express, FedEx's 12-digit numbers, UPS waybills and Canada Post's 16-digit numbers) look like order or phone numbers, so write the carrier's name beside them, for example "DHL 3318810025".
Changing tracking after it ships
- Go to Orders and open the shipped order (it's under Shipped).
- Press Edit tracking (or Add tracking if you didn't add any).
- Paste the new number or link and press Save. Leave the box empty to remove it.
The line under it names what was saved, for example "Tracking saved: USPS." Your buyer gets one "Tracking updated" email about ten minutes later, with the new tracking. If you fix it again in those minutes, they get one email, about the last one.
Changing tracking works on the web. The iPhone and Android apps show the tracking you added.
