Connecting Stripe

Plukio uses Stripe for payments. When a buyer checks out, the money goes straight into your own Stripe account, and Stripe pays it out to your bank. Plukio never holds your money, not even for a minute.

Connect your account

  1. Go to your dashboard at plukio.com/sell.
  2. Select Connect with Stripe. Stripe opens.
  3. Fill in what Stripe asks for. We fill in your email, your shop's name, its web address and a short description to save you typing; check them and change anything that's wrong.
  4. When you finish, Stripe sends you back to your dashboard.

Stripe asks for your identity and bank details. That check is Stripe's, not ours: Plukio only ever sees that it passed. Your Stripe account is set up for the same country as your shop, so the two always match.

You can add products while you wait. Drafts don't need Stripe; only publishing does.

Where you are

Your dashboard shows one of these:

  • Setting up, with Finish Stripe setup: you left Stripe before you were done. Select it to pick up where you left off.
  • Stripe is checking: you've sent everything, and Stripe is reviewing it. That's usually minutes. The page updates itself when it's done.
  • Payouts healthy: you're done. We email you Payments are on, with what's left before you can submit for review.

Your Stripe dashboard

Once you're connected, Open Stripe on your dashboard (or Open Stripe dashboard in Settings) signs you in to your Stripe dashboard. That's where you see your payouts and answer disputes. See Getting paid.

Stripe charges its own processing fee on each payment, in your Stripe account. It's the same on both plans and separate from Plukio's fee.

If Stripe pauses payments

Sometimes Stripe needs more information later. We email you Stripe paused payments. Until you finish what Stripe asks for, your listings are off the site, nobody can check out, and you can't publish new listings. Your shop page stays up, buyers can still message you, and nothing is deleted. Select Finish Stripe setup on your dashboard; your listings come back on their own once Stripe is satisfied.

If your Stripe account is disconnected

If your Stripe account is disconnected from Plukio, we suspend your shop and email you. Nothing is deleted. Reconnect Stripe from your dashboard, then reply to that email and we'll reopen your shop. If you had paused or closed your shop yourself, it stays that way until you reconnect and resume or reopen it.
