Payouts for new shops
While your shop is new, Stripe doesn't pay out your balance on its usual schedule. Instead, each order's money is paid out to your bank once you ship the order. The money waits in your own Stripe account until then: Plukio never holds it.
This is so a refund can always be paid if an order doesn't arrive. It ends on its own once your shop is established.
Which shops this applies to
Shops that connect Stripe for the first time now. A shop that was already selling before isn't affected, and neither is a shop whose payouts have turned automatic.
What's held, and when it's paid out
Each order with something to ship is held. Digital orders are never held. The amount is what the order left in your Stripe balance, after Stripe's fee and Plukio's fee.
An order's money is released when the first of these happens:
- You ship it, with no open help request or card dispute on it. An open request or dispute keeps it held until it closes.
- It's refunded in full.
- 80 days pass since the buyer paid.
Once a day, Plukio asks Stripe to pay out everything in your balance that's no longer held. Stripe then sends it to your bank on its usual timing, and you get an email for each payout naming the orders it pays for.
Note
Stripe makes a payment available a few days after the buyer pays, so an order you ship quickly can wait for that before it's paid out.
Seeing your payouts
Your shop dashboard has a Payouts card with what's held and what's in the next payout. Choose See held orders to open the Payouts page, which lists each order's money:
- Held until shipped, Held: help request open or Held: card dispute open
- In the next payout
- Payout on its way and Paid out
While your shop is new, the payout schedule and manual payouts aren't available in your Stripe dashboard.
When payouts turn automatic
Payouts turn automatic once both of these are true:
- You've shipped 10 orders that weren't fully refunded or decided against you on a help request.
- 60 days have passed since your first paid order.
The Payouts page shows how far along you are. When both are done, we switch your Stripe account back to its usual daily schedule and email you. From then on, Stripe pays out your balance whether or not an order has shipped.
If a payout fails
If your bank sends a payout back, we email you. The money is safe in your Stripe balance. Check your bank details in your Stripe dashboard (Open Stripe on your dashboard), and the next payout tries again. See Getting paid.
