Shipping profiles, destinations and rates
A shipping profile is a set of flat rates you make once, like "Standard" or "Large and fragile", and attach to any physical product. Change a profile's rates and every product using it follows. Digital products don't need one.
Make a profile
- Go to Shipping profiles and press New profile.
- Give it a Name.
- Enter the First item rate. Each extra is optional: it's added for each extra item. Leave it empty and the first-item rate covers any number of items.
- Choose where Parcels leave from.
- Press Add profile.
Rates are in your shop's currency. A rate can be zero, so to offer free shipping, set it to 0.
Your first profile becomes your Default. New physical products get the default profile. To change it, open another profile with Edit and press Make default.
Rates for particular countries
Press Edit on a profile to open it:
- Under Rates by destination, add a row with the Countries it covers, using two-letter codes like US, CA, GB, and its First item and Each extra rates. A country can only be in one row.
- The profile's own rate is for everywhere else. Turn off Ship everywhere else at this rate if you only ship to the countries in your rows. Buyers elsewhere then can't check out with that profile's products.
Press Save to keep everything in the editor at once.
Attach a profile to a product
In the product editor, choose a profile in the Shipping card. It saves right away. A physical product can't be published without one, and once it's published you can't take its profile away, only switch it to another. If some products have none, Shipping profiles offers to give them your default profile in one go.
What buyers pay
Before checking out, buyers choose the country it ships to. Items that share a profile are charged the first-item rate once, plus Each extra for each additional item. Each profile in the order adds its own charge.
Delete a profile
You can delete a profile only when no product uses it. Move its products to another profile first.
Note
Rates are flat. Plukio doesn't work out shipping from weight or a carrier's prices, and it doesn't sell shipping labels. Local pickup isn't available.
